How it all began…

This expertise led to additional program development opportunities including authoring the Managing Angry Moments Program (MAM) for the Department of National Defence.

Workplaces also began to ask for consulting and coaching services when there were challenging employee, management and leadership situations. We had invitations to address issues including bullying, under-functioning employees, addictions, and low morale. We have worked with federal government departments, provincial ministries, crown corporations, public and private schools, First Nations organizations and non-profit societies.

In addition to our consulting services, we have authored and taught programs in effective team-building, personally effective leadership, and workplace communication.

Throughout this evolution, spirituality has always been woven into our offerings. Now in our fourth decade we are formally providing specific programs that focus on spirituality. Cascadia continues to be committed to providing the highest quality service that addresses a holistic viewpoint of what it means to be human.

In 1995, the Cascadia began by promoting and facilitating anger management groups for both men and women. At the same time, we offered Counselling Services to individuals, couples and families particularly in the area of managing escalating situations.

As our knowledge and experience grew, we were offered the opportunity to develop two programs for the Province of British Columbia’s correctional system: the Violence Prevention Program (VPP) and the Substance Abuse Management Program (SAM).  Researching, writing and training others to facilitate these provincial programs accelerated our learning about what was and was not effective in addressing highly conflictual situations.

Program Development & Training

Cascadia has developed six train-the-trainer programs at the federal, provincial and regional levels, and ten additional programs in the area of building individual and organizational health. This expertise is applied by our team in our counselling work, psycho-educational groups, and with consulting clients.
